Let me be blunt. Brochure printing these days may look great and exciting, but most of the designs out there are template based and technically boring. If you really want to be original with your brochure printing, you need to think out of the box. This means that you should not just use the conventional wisdom that prevails in commercial brochure printing now. You must try to bend some rules and test the boundaries of good brochure making. Let me give you a few tips on how to think out of the box with your brochure printing.

Using different fold styles. One simple way to think out of the box is to use a different fold style. If you have been printing standard brochures for years now, you are most likely using a trifold brochure. This is the most prevalent kind of brochure printing and it really can get boring at times. If you want to go out of the box with this, you will have to go for new folds. An unusual French fold brochure, or a high capacity Z fold or Accordion fold can be quite memorable. Just ask your brochure printer about the options in folding brochures. You will probably see a few options that are truly out of the box.

Completely redesigning the shape. If the standard rectangular color brochure is not what you like, you can think out of the box and just totally redesign the shape of it. From rectangular brochures, you can opt to using your own shapes. Circle brochures can be quite eye-catching. Star shapes or other iconic shapes can be used for special occasions and events. Customization costs may add a bit to the whole brochure printing quotation but it will truly be an out of the box design that people will undoubtedly notice.

Using totally different print materials. If you can play with the shape of the color brochure, you should know as well that you can go out of the box with the print materials. Instead of paper, you can actually customize it to more unique materials. Plastic, rubber, cardboard and other materials can easily be adapted and used for brochure printing. This adds a very original element that some brochure printing campaigns use to great success.

Adding unusual accessories and add-ons. Finally, you can also think out of the box in terms of accessories and add-ons to your color brochures. This means adding unusual things like reflectors, stickers, embossing and even metallic inks and sparkles. This is another good way of thinking out of the box since it gives you an opportunity to truly create a memorable brochure with full creativity.

So what are you waiting for? Think out of the box for your brochure printing. You will never regret the results.
