Los Angeles is one of the most famous cities in the world. Los Angeles or L.A. is perhaps most known for being the home of the US’s film industry - Hollywood - and thus the home of the stars of the silver screen.
But L.A. is more than just the entertainment capital of the world, it is also an international center of business, trade, culture, science, technology and education.

Arts, Music and Entertainment

Being the world’s entertainment capital means you will never run out of galleries, concert halls, theatres and television studios to visit. Watch shows like Ellen, The Price is right, and Two and a Half Men being taped. Who knows, maybe you could even end being a contestant in a game show!

Art lovers can visit LA’s art district and visit the following:

· Sixth Street in downtown San Pedro for its First Thursday art walks.
· Chung King Road in Chinatown which is littered with funky boutique galleries where you might just stumble upon a prize find in hidden alleys.
· Downtown Arts District and take an art walk on Wednesdays and watch artists create their masterpieces.
· North Hollywood Arts District for eclectic types who are into different forms of art: photography, theater, dance and poetry.

LA is also home to notable galleries including;

The Museum of Contemporary Art which features avant-garde exhibitions such as works by Andrea Zittel (contemporary fabricated houses, living spaces), and Alexandra Grant (wordscapes - paintings composed of written words). At the Autry National Center, you will be treated to art works, artifacts, stories and cultures from the American West. And if modern art is your pick, Bergamot Station houses several contemporary art galleries, including the Santa Monica Museum of Art.

In the mood for watching major Broadway shows? Head for the Pantages Theater, which is a Hollywood landmark since the 1930s. For modern productions, head for the Mark Taper Forum, which is known for developing new plays in the avant-garde world. You may also want to stop by the Hollywood Fight Club, a co-op theatre which is famous for its independent creations. The Hollywood Fight Club draws multiple talents together to create film, plays, music videos and other original work.

Family Fun

LA is also the place to be for some family fun time. Head to Universal Studios in Hollywood and feel soak in the movie action with rids and full-sensory attractions - there is sure to be one for each member of the family. There are also numerous hands-on museums in LA. You and your kids will surely enjoy the California Science Center where kids can create their own structures and see if they can survive an earthquake with the museum’s mini shake table and how they can prepare for one.
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium features a wide variety of sea creatures which kids can actually touch in the aquarium’s touch tank. At the Skirball Cultural Center, your kids will be able to help build a giant wooden ark, weather a storm and work with other kids to build a better future.

LA’s Beaches

Of course you can’t take a trip through LA without visiting its famous beaches. LA’s beaches are famous for - well being in movies and TV shows, but most importantly for their beauty. Surfers flock to Malibu which is famous for its perfect waves. Santa Monica beach is another famous spot which offers plenty of room for lounging, tanning, a game of volleyball or a bike ride.
